Journey into the past

Before embarking on our adventure, let's take a step back in time....To understand how the idea of creating Les Petites Villas came about, we need to go back several years. Here we are in 1996, when Eric and Laurence, two mountain enthusiasts, set themselves the crazy challenge of introducing the world to the hidden spots of South Basse-Terre through sporting activities such as hiking and canyoning. Vert Intense was born.

Over the years, and in response to a strong demand for tourist accommodation in the south of the island, they came up with the idea of offering their sports enthusiasts the chance to stay in a quiet, nature-themed location. And so, in 2008, construction began on the “Les Bananes Vertes” ecolodges...

Always on a quest for discovery, Éric and Laurence set off to visit the archipelago opposite called Les Saintes, and more specifically the island of Terre-de-Haut . This is the island I mentioned in my previous article, where I grew up, and it's a must-see in Guadeloupe.

Indeed, the colorful, picturesque streets and white sandy beaches with crystal-clear waters make Terre-de-Haut a real little tropical paradise that attracts many tourists and locals every year. Our two mountain lovers found themselves in symbiosis with the surrounding nature and finally fell under the spell of this island, nicknamed the “candy of the Caribbean”.

And so the idea began to take root in their heads and Eric and Laurence decided to start looking for accommodation, but not just any accommodation. Having a very precise idea of what they wanted, their search was initially unsuccessful. In their eyes, nothing they found sufficiently reflected the beauty of Terre-de-Haut.

After many years of research, exploring every nook and cranny of the island, they turned their search in a different direction. Rather than focusing solely on existing accommodations, they also looked at those under construction, and finally found the rare gem - a villa overlooking the bay of Terre-de-Haut.

It wasn't a foregone conclusion at first, as the villa had already been reserved. Eric and Laurence didn't give up, however, because they felt that this cottage perfectly reflected the image they wanted to convey to their customers: that of a cozy little cocoon in a corner of paradise.

After several months of waiting, and much to Eric and Laurence's delight, the villa was once again available. And so, in 2016, La Petite Villa des Saintes, located high up on Chemin de la Colline, saw the light of day and welcomed its first guests.

This villa, designed for two people, is the perfect place for a romantic getaway. Its open terrace and small private pool overlooking the magnificent Baie des Saintes offer all the comforts you need for a pleasant stay.outside, you'll find private parking for your scooter, bike or electric cart, with a special plug installed for recharging.

Situated high up and away from traffic, Petite Villa is nevertheless close to shops, restaurants, beaches and the start of many hiking trails, such as the Chameau.

In 2022, a small villa identical to theirs was built just above it. Seeing this as a sign, and given the success of the first, Eric and Laurence decided to seize the opportunity and buy this second villa. And so, in 2023, La Petite Villa 2 was born.

Like the first, this second villa is also designed for two people, with its own swimming pool, a breathtaking view over the bay of Terre de Haut and all the comforts required for a dream stay.

And here we are, back in 2024 after our journey through time, with the two Petites Villas des Saintes as you know them.
